A Coriolis flow transmitter is a device used to measure fluid flow and works on the principle of the Coriolis effect. The Coriolis effect means that when fluid passes through a vibrating pipe or sensor, the inertial force of the fluid will cause the pipe or sensor to bend or twist slightly. Coriolis flow transmitters use this phenomenon to measure the flow of fluids. Coriolis flow transmitters typically consist of a vibrating tube or sensor and an electronic transmitter. A vibrating pipe is usually in the form of a U-shape bent to allow fluid to pass through it. As fluid passes through vibrating pipes, the pipes bend or twist slightly, and sensors measure these changes. The electronic transmitter receives the signal from the sensor and performs signal processing and calculations to determine the flow rate of the fluid. The transmitter can convert the flow into standard signal output, such as current signal (4-20mA) or digital signal (such as MODBUS or FOUNDATION Fieldbus protocol), for further monitoring, control or recording.
